Our dentistry service addresses everything from routine dental cleanings (prophylaxis) to more complicated treatments such as tooth extraction.

Every procedure includes:

  • pre-operative bloodwork

  • Intravenous (IV) catheter

  • IV fluids during the procedure

  • Continuous anesthesia monitoring by a doctor or technician with heart rate, respiratory rate, ECG, blood pressure, and body temperature

  • Ultrasonic scaling and polishing of the teeth

  • Thorough oral exam, including probing the gums for periodontal pockets

  • Full mouth dental radiographs to detect tooth root abscesses, tooth resorption, periodontal disease under the gumline, and other abnormalities that aren't visible on visual examination

  • Optional dental sealant to protect the gumline from tartar for up to 6 months

Dr. Greenway has had many additional hours of training in dentistry, and if needed, can perform many dental treatments, including major and minor tooth extractions, minor oral surgery and mass removals, oronasal fistula repair, and bonded sealant application for chipped teeth.  However, her favorite thing is to keep our patients' teeth and gums healthy with routine cleanings to avoid some of those major treatments!

At SLCAC, anesthesia safety is of the utmost importance.  Please go to the bottom of our surgery page here to read about our anesthesia protocols.
