During any surgical procedure, the safety of your pet is our number one priority. That's why all of our surgical patients receive pre-anesthetic bloodwork (to assess organ function and cell counts), an IV catheter, IV fluids during the procedure, patient warming, and close patient monitoring including ECG, blood pressure, temperature, pulse oximetry, and heart and respiratory rates throughout the procedure. After the procedure, your pet recovers in a heated kennel and is monitored by our skilled staff until they are ready to go home. Pre- and post-operative pain management is provided in accordance with the type of procedure performed.
An individual anesthetic plan is formulated for each patient based on age, breed, any medical conditions of the pet, temperament of the pet, and the procedure being performed. If you have any concerns about anesthesia, we would be happy to discuss them with you!
